The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of System Design was established on the basis of Order No. 359 of December 18, 2013, with purpose to effectively organize the process of preparing bachelors in the following specialties: 122 “Computer Science”, 151 “Automation and Computer Integrated Technologies”, and Masters in specialization “Information technology of designing”, “Systems design”, “Computerized control systems and automation”, in the field of design and development complex, highly loaded, distributed information processing systems.
The main activities of the laboratory are:
- organization and conduct of training sessions in the field of:
- design of complex, distributed information processing systems;
- methods and tools of structural design;
- studying the methods of processing large amounts of data;
- research the efficiency and performance of distributed, parallel computing systems;
- research and development of principles of construction and design methods for highly loaded, parallel distributed information processing systems;
- research and development of the principles of interaction of the components of distributed, parallel systems;
- introduction of GRID technologies in the educational process;
- holding seminars, webinars, scientific-practical and online conferences, round tables, in cooperation with other university departments and third parties;
- evolution of the creative initiative of students, innovative activity of students, attraction to the scientific work at the department;
- conducting, on the basis of the laboratory, scientific research of the masters and post-graduate students of the department;
- provision of internships for employees of other organizations, as well as research practice of masters;
- perform of research work by staff, post-graduate students of the department.
