“Autumn of Discoveries with NURE”: The CMIT Department Participates in a Career Guidance Event for School Students

As part of the “Autumn of Discoveries with NURE” career guidance initiative, the Faculty of Computer Science organized an intensive immersion into the world of modern technologies for high school students from the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kharkiv.

The event took place at Kharkiv Lyceum No. 105, bringing together over 60 curious and motivated students. Pupils from Lyceums No. 106, 109, 116, 131, 132, 150, 154, 159, and 169 also took part.

Faculty members and students from the Faculty of Computer Science prepared three comprehensive masterclasses, allowing the participants to step into the roles of real IT professionals.

The first two masterclasses, organized by the CMIT Department, were combined into a single hands-on workshop. During an interactive business analysis game titled “Try Your Hand at IT,” participants learned how to gather and analyze requirements for complex technical systems—using the design of a “smart” shelter for the lyceum as a practical example. The students immediately applied this knowledge within a STEM project called “Smart Shelter: A Computerized Life-Support System,” where they designed and built a prototype of a “smart” shelter capable of automatically monitoring and maintaining safe conditions for students and teachers.

All participants had a memorable experience, while the most active students received commemorative prizes and treats.

We thank the administration of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 105 for their hospitality, and all the participants for their curiosity and genuine interest in the technologies of the future! We look forward to seeing you again at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics!
